Most of those I've known to have a serious problem/fear of gay people were themselves struggling with being gay. I suspect he was struggling with being Gay and also being Muslim and he thought that this would somehow make everything right. Thankfully, the vast majority of people trapped between their sexuality and their religion, don't see killing people as any kind of solution. I can't help but wonder if he was exposed to Daesh/ISIS propaganda that pushed him over the edge.

You may have been right on a few days ago when you said this guy committed this horrific act of terrorism because of his sexuality and not ISIS....Good Call ..

If nothing else, the idea of ISIS helped him justify what he was going to do... so I wouldn't give ISIS a completely free pass on this either.

SSG (Join to see) - He was definitely radicalized but so far no credible links to ISIS or al Qaeda

The more we are Learning about him the more convoluted his Character becomes. Called 911 and said he was inspired by ISIS but those that know him said one of his Heroes was someone that fought against ISIS. By all appearances this was a LGBT Hate Crime but now we are finding out that he was a Regular at this Gay Bar and Subscribed to a Gay Phone App Dating Service. Maybe Self Hate? Maybe just another whack job with easy access to a Weapon of Mass Murder.
