Oshkosh Defense and US Army to collaborate on armament technologies

Looks like Oshkosh is scoring another deal with the US Army to help develop combat vehicles. Oshkosh in 2021 signed a deal to make the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle for the Army & Marines, as well as some US Allies. The agreement will allow research & development on Oshkosh's turret system being fielded with the newest Stryker vehicles and potentially the Army's Optionally Manned Fighting Vehicle (OMFV). Since this is just the Research & Development (R&D) phase, no vehicles are being procured at this time. This effort should inform Army leaders on the program to replace the Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV), that was originally developed in the 1970s & early 80s. Whenever I hear things about the Bradley IFV, I always think of the movie, Pentagon Wars starring Kelsey Grammer & Cary Ewles. It's a comedy, but does have some humor in it that mimics real life. One of the Generals in the movie is pushing for a beefed up Infantry carrier, that "has to have portholes, where Soldiers can shoot out of them." And other new ideas crop up where it has to have a turret... like a "Tank". All of these ideas baffles engineers who are supposed to actually design something that can actually work, and be under budget. LOL! Highly Recommended..!
