We need to stay strong. When the docs ask you if you have weapons, the answer is either "no" or none of your business (nonya is what my spouse says)

A refusal to answer would generally (and accurately) be taken as a "Yes".
I advise taking a page from the Koran, and applying the Muslim "justifiable lie" via "taqiyya". After all, what right to the truth does the questioner have? If it is none of his business, he deserves a lie as an answer. Just say "No".
