Patrick K. Hallinan, Department of Army: Grant Military Burial Honors to Women WWII Pilots

This petition is being circulated on Change.org and other sites. What the petitioner is asking is that Congress grant burial rights in Arlington National Cemetery to these female pilots who served during World War II. While these women provided honorable service and freed up men to serve overseas in the war, under current regulations they are not eligible for burial in Arlington. From what I have read, they were not even granted veteran status until 1977. No doubt they are deserving but there is criteria for being buried there and they don't meet that criteria. Burial space at Arlington is extremely limited and exceptions should not be made for every special interest group or individual who wants to be buried there. Jut wondering what RallyPoint thinks?
