Sgt. Maj. Tomas Barrios was the command sergeant major for 4th Battalion, 5th Air Defense Regiment, at the time of the affair. He took a plea deal that will likely allow him to retire. He was sentenced June 28 to 60 days’ confinement and a reduction in rank to master sergeant.

MAJ Dale E. Wilson, Ph.D.
I seriously doubt a junior NCO or enlisted soldier would have been given such a break.

This is just another reason for the friction between the senior ranks and junior ones. Were this 'SSG' Barrios, he'd be separated with no retirement in the wings after his prison time.
This E9, and I used the term on purpose, should be cashiered out with nothing, Fraternization, then lying about it just shows he cared nothing about his position or professional responsibilities.

It takes two to tango.
I saw this problem incoming at my last command. Keeping young active healthy males and females together in a close working environment far from home from socializing and getting aroused is a losing proposition. We keep hitting our heads against the same wall and expecting something besides a headache, something has to change dramatically, or we’ll keep having the problem.
