Pelosi, House Democrats block veterans’ health care bill

No, you DO want privatized VA! The government is the worst possible entity to run healthcare. The only thing the government does for the VA is keep terrible employees on staff. If you've ever worked in healthcare and the VA you would know this. It's broken.

CPT (Join to see) - Iowa recently privatized it's state run health care. Within the year prices went up, quality went down and services were cut. Private organizations only give a shit about one thing, money and they will make that money any way they can. The VA has it's problems yes, but that is more due to the administrative side and no one paying attention. If the oversight committee had actually given a damn and took an interest in the VA, we wouldn't be having this problem. And it's only been in the last 2 or 3 years that we have seen any improvements. The answer is NOT privatizing VA healthcare. We fix what is broken, NOT hand it over to greedy corporations.

I agree. Privatizing the VA into an already "for profit" medical industry will mean more federal money required to cover the costs. There is a reason many private care professionals don't take TRICARE now; it doesn't pay them enough. VA outsourcing care to private entities will see the kind of financial abuse that we already see now with regular medical care. I don't want a privatized VA unless they can keep costs down, improve quality of care, and ensure they aren't gonna ask me to pay more out of pocket.

True, remember the only oversight to any medical costs is the INSURANCE COMPANIES. THEY ARE THE ONLY ENTITY THAT KEEPS WATCH ON COSTS. Medicare is the worst for overuse and extreme cheating, because there is NO OVERSIGHT. Insurance companies hire quality people, and train them well. Government hires people and puts them in jobs and it takes years to get rid of poor employees. And there is NO OVERSIGHT TO COST OVER RUNS.

Congress (both parties) does that no matter who's in charge and no matter how many other Americans are hurting.
