I would expand that and say all absentee. There are any number of good reasons to be out of state at election time. Most obviously to the folks on this site is military not overseas, but stationed elsewhere. I don't see units doing 3-day block leave in November so everyone can travel to their home state.

But there is also going to college or training out of state, receiving long-term medical care at specialized or elite facilities (like Johns Hopkins or the Mayo Clinic), hospital-bound patients who physically cannot leave their facility, TDY for civilian jobs, overseas work for civilian jobs, non-convicted alleged criminals in jail awaiting their court date, or even working in-state, but on the opposite side of the state. Like a Detroit resident working in the UP, or a Miami resident working in Tallahassee. Travel back to their proper district just isn't feasible. And blocking off that day and saying no work-related travel is allowed on that day, to include travel starting before that day if it continues to or through that day, is just not realistic.

But *if* you are in your district AND you are physically able to get to the polls, then, yes, you should be voting in person.
