So you have these out there with no overhead protection? In an area known for hostilities? I'm going to wait for more info, but this seems weird. That's like sending someone on patrol with no weapon, kit, and tell him to be like Jason Borne and make it to the next FOB 19mi away.......oh my bad. That's been done already. Seems weird no overwatch to me.

SSG Warren Swan Staff, there was likely all kinds of protection, BUT....apparently they strayed into territorial waters. Evidently because of mechanical problems. If that turns out to be the true, then engaging them to prevent the detainment would have been an act of war, which is likely why they let themselves be taken. Those boats are armed.

My questions go towards the boats and the crews. Why/how did one break down? Why, upon that happening, did the other not IMMEDIATELY start towing the first, in order to avoid this, entirely? I agree that we need more information.

From what I read SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL a disabled ship drifted into Iranian waters. Iran intends to release the 10 sailors and keep the boats.
