Pentagon exonerates Marines blackballed by war-crimes case. They doubt the gesture is sincere.

Kind of like like putting the following statement into an OER:
"... this Officer and he has to the potential to develop into a fine leader. However, I would refer that he do it under someone else's command..." (this WAS AN ACTUAL STATEMENT IN AN ARMY FIELD GRADE OFFICER'S OER)

LTC Orlando Illi I once endorsed a young Airman's EPR with the following statement: "This airman will generally produce adequate work when specifically tasked and heavily supervised". I had the pleasure of ridding my Air Force of this POS.

MSgt Stephen Council - I once saw an OER (a friend of mine was an Adjutant General Officer) that had this statement "... this Officer adeptness at miscalculation is only exceeded by his inability to cope with change ..."

The only good I see come out of this for the Marines is that their record is clean now. It won't clear up the mental challenges and personal issues each one of them has had to overcome from being discharged or just plain black balled and kicked out of the Marine Corp they loved. They have scrapped and scraped to make a living and with that baggage it has made it a difficult road. We owe them so much more than that...this stewed under the previous admin and its leadership and these mens lives weren't worth their time. I don't think Trump had anything to do withthe exoneration but it happened under his watch not the other ones watch. I don't know what that would be but IMHO we owe these men for doing their duty and standing firm in the face of adversity. Just glad they get some semblance of their life back.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I would like to see the Marines and the Government come out and say undeniably that this unit served with honor and without compromise.
