CPT (Join to see), this is one of my pet peeves about GWOT service. Serving with CJIATF-435 in AFG, I gain a special appreciation for how sensitive this and other detainee related issues are and the impact any of the 'news' stories has on the warfighters. Separately, my issue is the source of this article. The Intercept has put so many operations in jeopardy by revealing critical information on military operations, why stop now. I guess its to get an equal balance between insurgent lives lost versus military members' lives lost.

War is different. Especially a Global War on Terrorism against non-state actors. This is not a civil matter like releasing police videos of a US police shooting that might make some Americans very angry. We are in a war with vicious and merciless ideological enemies. Isis, Al Shabab, and the Taliban are ideological movements that practice slavery, throwing gays off of buildings to their death, burning people alive in cages, burning men women and children alive in houses, raping kids and taking underage age girls and married women for their wives, and executing in mass murders captured POWs and anyone who runs afoul of them. The list of their barbarism and evilness is endless. Unfortunately, Liberal Democrats and the groups (and media outlets) they support like the ACLU use American Civil Constitutional Procedure and concepts of US Due Process to apply to the battlefield and to enemy combatants. When captured abroad, these terrorists should be tried in US civil criminal courts they say. They love Edward Snowden, a traitor who has done serious harm to our intelligence and operational capabilities. They do not care that the release of these inflammatory photos and documents with aid the enemy and its will to fight and recruit new terrorists.

I hope when these released documents start popping up again as propaganda tools in the hands of our enemies the people who filed the release are brought for aiding the enemy.
I'm all for government transparency.... Except for shit like this. This issue was done. People got convicted. They're just beating a dead horse at this point and in doing so giving more fuel to the fire burning.

CPT (Join to see) hopefully nobody's life and freedom will be threatened by this FOIA request to release these photos except whoever actually submitted the FOIA act request and their co-conspirators.
I hope and pray that no deployed service members, civilian employees or contractors lives will be put at risk because of this decision.
