All churches are run by men. The hierarchy of the catholic church is a political system that the Catholics have no input as to the priests that administer to them. They are appointed by the upper echelon and are on a rotation basis from one church to another. They may spend a year or two at any given church before they move on. The most I've seen at one church for a priest was 3 years. The pope is chose by men not by God. His determination is unchallenged and cannot be questioned by those under him. I have switched from being a catholic to a Southern Baptist. No church is perfect. But where 2 christians meet in the name of the lord.
