This is why those of us in the Navy who carry weapons everyday no there's no such thing as "Accidental Discharge", hence why the term was changed to "Negligent Discharge", especially the M-16, M-4 or M-9 they have double redundency safeties. The M-11, is striker fired, only CID carried them and of course, the most dangerous weapon in the world... 1911! I've seen a few dashes, seats, roofs and even a guardmount room chair (all empty, thank God), cocked, locked and ready to rock used to always get someone. I remember transitioning to the M9 in like 94 or 95 and then the method of fire was still unholster, slingshot slack, pause sight alignment/picture, squeeze. That went on for at least a year, finally everyone realized with the ambidextrous safety and firing pin block, you could carry it condition 1, instead of modified 2!
