It's not profitable to cure a disease; the big bucks are in treating symptoms.

This sounds like they are getting rid of the UK portion, not the US. Hope so, otherwise this is disappointing. I did a Master's paper on the drug industry and it is interesting to say the least....

Face it, Alzheimer's is a disease of the elderly and every move the current administration has made on healthcare is to eliminate care/insurance for the elderly. Face it, businesses must make decisions that are profitable for the company and the handwriting on the wall shows federal support of elderly and associated diseases going away or completely eliminated.
