Tough getting up and watching the games from Germany (0200 puck drop), but well worth it...just like last season!!! GO PENS!!!

Yeah. I remember when the Wings won back-to-back. Good times. Stevie Y didn't rely on tears to overturn penalties, though... still, much congrats to the Doobiedoobiedoos.

HAHA, truth. I'm just excited for next year. The Flyers look to finally have a team that can make a run and keep it going. Just too much youth this year.

Matt Hannaford - Yeah, it's good to see some of the other teams that were powerhouses back in the day starting to show signs of life again.
I wish one of them was Detroit, but we've got some serious rebuilding and seasoning to do. At least we've got a decent spot in the draft this year... :-/

@Matt Hannaford I wanted a seventh game. I figured that Pitt would win, too many weapons. Still an amazing run from Nashville. 8 seed to game six of the finals is a great run. Fell just short.

While the disallowed goal could be disheartening, it was nearly two full periods before the final horn. The classlessness shown during the presentation of the cup and post game celebration (including throwing things on the ice) is never called for.
In terms of the disallowed goal itself...I agree with the call the way it was made, but believe in general that refs have too quick of a whistle on many of those plays. However, the whistle was blown and it's not a goal. If Nashville fans are going to call this a tainted cup because of that one single play, the game last night allowed (at least in my view) way too many penalties take place uncalled and then called some odd ones.

Matt Hannaford - I agree, it is like blaming a last minute missed field goal for a loss in a football game. No, you lost because your entire team failed to put enough points on the board. Realistically, it is more a credit to Murray and the Pens defense. 0 goals in the last two games. You cannot win in any league without scoring points. If a bad call, quick whistle, or perceived slight is enough to throw off your game, you don't deserve to win.
They have a great atmosphere in Nashville. The fans are into the games, but they do show a lack of class. Taunting the opposing goalie after a goal is classless, what are they leftover Eagles fans?
As far as throwing things on the ice goes, I love the catfish. It is like the octopus in Detroit. Slimy, nasty, messy, irritatitng? Sure all of that, but fun too. Especially when the collector picks it up and has fun with it. The best ever was that old man in Detroit who would wield the octopus thrown on the ice like Nunchakus

PO3 Steven Sherrill - Throwing the catfish is fine. It was after the game they were throwing additional stuff (TV didn't show much but commentators talked about it and you could hear the PA guy asking them to stop) I'm assuming trash and cups.

Matt Hannaford - I was at a panthers game, and that happened. I thought the same thing you said "Well that was classless." It is one thing to support your team. It is another thing to throw a temper tantrum when they don't win. In the long run, as a fan, does the win or loss by a sports team really impact your life? Does it make you more wealthy? More attractive? Stronger? No. The reality is that it entertains us for a few hours while lightening the wallet by the cost of tickets, stale beer, cold hotdogs, and bad nachos. We love our teams which makes it worth the cost, but it really does not affect our daily lives. Further throwing stuff onto the playing surface (more so in hockey than other sports) it can cause a player to incur an injury. In the real world if I throw something that causes you to incur an injury, I am going to have to explain to the courts why I did it.
