One good reason why a national "one size fits all" minimum wage does not work. Markets, cost of living and standards of living vary across the nation. Forcing employers to meet a minimum wage requirement without regard for the local factors leads to closings such as this.

Also need to remember that Boston is a tough market to break into the pizza business. Applaud the effort but they may not have done enough market research.

Being from the Boston area I have heard of the Haley House. It's unfortunate the Dudley Dough pizza shop has to close. As a team leader stated, "“It’s an experiment, and some very good things came out of that, such as skill-building for staff and being in this building at this time of gentrification and change in this community.” And so the debate over what constitutes "Fair Wages" continues.

Uh... it’s not sustainable...
Either you fail ‘cause you can’t make enough to pay the wages, or you fail because in order to pay the wage you price yourself out of business.
But you’ll feel REAL GOOD about it.
