The thing says "Front Towards Enemy" for a reason. But people should also be aware that it has a 15m kill blast to the rear as well. If you admit you don't know what you're doing, step away from the mine and get your six out of my AO.

And this is how we get extra safety training. Claymores can kill from both ends with the secondary projectiles they throw back towards you. Not too smart to stand in the open when detonating them. As a PVT at Ft Hunter Liggett, I had a buddy loose a large portion of his nose from a grenade fragment while he was in the open well outside the frag radius. Hope someone crushed these guys nuts.

In my Infantry Officers Basic course we did a live fire with a claymore. The person who had the Clacker set it off in his hand. He was not hurt too bad but had the nickname "Clacker" for the rest of the course. They are very cool!
