I'm very glad I do not go to Planet Fitness. That Lunk Alarm is bull. Everyone should be welcomed to a gym that wants to continue their fitness or to start conditioning their body correctly. PF just discriminated toward the body builder because he either grunted or breathed to sharply......are you kidding me?
That guy was wanting to condition his body, just like the guy or girl that's 10s to 100s pounds overweight.
Also, it doesn't help that where my sister-in-law goes (yah, a Planet Fitness site) they offer pizza......

PO3 Steven Sherrill - I understand providing snacks. I went to OneLife in Norfolk (Gawd, I miss that place sooo bad) and they offered smoothies in various types. But Pizza? There are people there who are in the gym because they can't stop eating pizza......why keep teasing them with food they want to do away with? Maybe fiber bars, Nutrigrain bars (yuk); something better than just pizza....come on!

PO1 (Join to see) - I are one of those people who joined the Gym because my intake was superior to my output causing a significant increase in my central region. If the pizza was dangling just out of reach in front of the treadmill, maybe it would make sense in a looney tunes kind of way. I agree, if you want to have snacks, low sugar, high protein snacks would be the best thing as that is what will help during a workout. Carbohydrates are too slow for consuming just before working out. Sugar burns too fast leaving a low while working out. Fats (the right fats not twinkie fats) are good for the muscle building as are the proteins.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - You're right on the money. The pizza idea sounds good....except put a beer in front of me and I'll run for it, lol. But as you were saying, snacks would be best; like if I was running for over 3 miles @ 5.2 mph, I would be burned around 500 calories and my sugar would be very low. A small does of glucose-based snacks, helps bring back your blood sugar. Those who are working out trying to bulk and what not, protein-based snacks would help. I would suggest the Quest bars (before they changed the ingredients. They went from a protein-isolate as the first ingredient to milk-isolate protein which has a bit more fat in it). Smoothies work great, you get your natural sugars from the fruit, you can add peanut butter for protein and (good) fats.
A slice of pizza can be around 250-500 calories/slice. It's like they are saying "work out like crazy and add the same crap back into your body". Those who are binge eaters, they won't just have "one" slice......maybe 3 or 4. If the snack option was offered it would be less calories, and the person would be getting enough macros to facilitate their body.

PO1 (Join to see) - No just that, Pizza is mostly bread so it is carbohydrates, and not good for immediate use.

My buddy got kicked out for breathing too loudly once . . . I myself was booted because of monopolizing the weights. AKA, I left a few dumbbells out as I was doing butnouts
