How could he have all those weapons? California has strict gun laws (sarcasm)
Seriously, this is what it will take. People reporting threats and the police investigating them and taking action where appropriate.

Well if the reported threat turns out to be credible and it prevents the possibility of a crime then what’s wrong with that? It was reported, they investigated and found credible evidence to support it. But hey we have police responding to calls of suspicious Black person or people doing “insert whatever” these days.
Now I’m sure the employees could’ve ignored it as simple frustration and not take him seriously but at what point do you take such comments seriously and worthy of scrutiny. I’ll also assume the police scrutinized the reporting individual(s) with questions like “what makes you think it wasn’t jest?” or “what other indicators did you see?”
As far as I’m concern law enforcement can adopt the “ideation” mentality the military has adopted for suicide prevention. A person says they want to kill a person or a bunch of people then take him/her seriously until they prove otherwise. Just a thought.
