MSG Andrew White - I always carry concealed, no sense getting folks upset with a sidearm sticking out.

Very happy about this. My daughter lives in Kansas. Many of my friends from my days at Riley and Leavenworth still live there. They didn't agree with need of guns in hospitals but wish the legislature and governor spent more time fixing the budget, funding schools, and creating jobs. Fixing healthcare shouldn't involve gun access. My final thoughts, do they allow concealed carry into the state legislature? Start there before making other public places an issue.

SGT (Join to see) Hospitals are like court houses. They are emotionally charged places with high emotion. Though I know it isn't realistic, no ER should be without two police officers at all times. Court houses are protected buildings because it is understood that there are people who are there who will be facing life changing events. Marriage, divorce, prison time, and death all can come from the courthouse. As I said emotionally charged facility. Hospitals have different circumstances, but similar levels of emotion. That is more true in the ER. People who have been maimed in accidents, injuries, violent illness, and anything else you can think of lands folks in the ER. Not to mention those who are victims and perpetrators (or both) of violent crimes. Asking that the facility be secure to make it as safe as can be is not unreasonable.
