Good article. As a Midwesterner, I too am more than corndogs and cornfields.

Holy left-wing propaganda, Batman.
That article was off the chain.
Why don't they just come out and honestly state their goals.
For those paying less attention, these carpet-baggers presuppose that they have insight on the Midwest. The first strike was calling our regional cheap meal a "hot plate". No doubt some editor made that change. For the uninitiated, that is a "hot dish", or a casserole to most of the country.
The second strike was the obvious targeting of Klobuchar and Buttagieg as disingenuous. Conspicuously absent were criticisms of certain other candidates who affect folksiness for the Iowa voter. That absence is not an accident.
Third and most damning was the call to arms for activism. This is clearly a dog whistle (ok, a regular whistle) to the revolutionaries that might be there in certain cities to open up additional fronts outside blue state bulwarks. There is no "systemic poverty" in Minneapolis - not like they imply, anyway. But since Minnesota might be in play in November, RISE UP, REVOLUTIONARIES!
They are already trying to organize chaos in Milwaukee, where the DNC Convention will be held.
I like the Guardian as one of my news sources. But this piece is hot garbage.

Good article. Democrats never remember that the very liberal German and Scandinavian populations (from whom I am entirely descended) in the Midwest saved Missouri for the Union, and in the 1840s and '50s wrote state constitutions that supported education so well that Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin are the top three states in ACT/SAT scores, now and for as far back as the records have been kept. We are a lot more than a bunch of people raised on farms.
Though, in fact, I was raised on an Iowa farm.
