It must, because women’s bodies / psyches generally can’t compete in the physical /danger-related jobs with men (no matter what we are fed in the TV series). There’s that niggling issue of the XY vs XX chromosome difference God gave to men and women.
A caveat is if their biological genes could be (are being) altered.

Just set up a unit with all women, let them run missions themselves instead of having a mixed unit.
