I, myself, would not wear my uniform (whether I was enlisted or current position) to the porn event. However, fucking rock on for getting a date with a porn star.

There are at least 3 maybe 4 threads regarding wearing of the uniform to the Porn event. Why do you think that is? Did you know there are other articles on this same Porn event? Did you know there were other service members present at this event in uniform? No one has ran a single thread on them. Perhaps the difference is that the other service members weren't there in official capacity, they were there as "observers" "tourists". Does it make a difference because the capacity in which this Soldier wore his uniform is official rather than being a participant? If the word Porn were not in the title and instead it said Grammys, Miss America Contest, or Las Vegas Beauty Pageant would the interest be the same?

I am merely linking the Army Times article because it provided additional clarification to previous discussions. Specifically because there were questions regarding "Command Clearance" regarding his wearing of the Dress Uniform. He did indeed get it. I am making no judgement one way or the other. Article linked for Information purposes only.

I am pretty sure, without looking, the regulations do not say "do not wear your uniform to a porn awards ceremony". We put that decision under the judgment component of the regulations. The fact that no one in command raised an eyebrow and told him that was a bad idea is disappointing.

While I know men (and some women) watch porn it is not exactly something the military out to embrace through "official" (in uniform) attendance. The continued objectification of women (and men to a lesser degree) in the porn industry should be something we don't embrace. I hate to sound like a prude but there it is.

It was, but there was some clarification in this with this article. Specifically that he actually got Command Clearance to wear the Dress Uniform.
