That is a fantastic story, thank you for sharing .I bet it was delicious. I like the last part about practicing in secret for 400 years...Behind a bright Red door, I may have picked a more subtle color!

lol... i have some Jewish friends who are from New Mexico... apparently when the Spanish were rampaging and pillaging in the new world some of the "Converted" jews came to the new world and continued their underground practice of judaism here.
there are special marks on the headstones in the (catholic) cemeteries that show the initiated which ones are actually jews.
an interesting story from some people (not me) with a direct connection.

My Aunty who was a big traveler and student of history showed us slides of those headstones I borrowedtbe slides and got teacher to backtrack a few lessons and we went over that lesson again and showed the slides. Sgt Wayne Wood
