I would inform that that they are making me feel unsafe because of their micro-aggression against English speaking people who refuse to screw with the English language. I would then curl up in the fetal position in the middle of the quad and tell the administration that I had been the victim of a vicious anglo-phobic attack. I would then demand a safe space for white males where we could strike heroic poses, tell great lies, and scratch ourselves whenever and wherever we itch.

SN Greg Wright - You just called a human "them". :|

Seriously though, I meant if you didn't know the person's gender.

SGT (Join to see) - If meeting in person I will know which of the only two genders there are. I will then use the appropriate pronoun. What's next, gonna change huMAN to huperson?

Language always adapts to the needs of society. There is nothing static about it, even pronouns. Of course those taught a certain word or pronoun as a child will likely continue to use it throughout their lives, but as younger generations come in, the old usage fades away. Don't believe me? when was the last time you heard someone use "thee/thou/thine/thy" for pronouns in regular conversation? Or used "ye" instead of "you"?

That's easy - when quoting the bible. But I do understand and agree with your point. Cliche' phrases and racist and sexual slurs also fit in that category.
