As is completely obvious, it was VITAL to the operation of the US government. Everyone should now applaud the President, the Senate, and the House of Representatives for eschewing scientifically correct terminology in favor of self-serving pap.
Quite frankly there doesn't appear to be any need whatsoever for terms like "African-American" (especially with reference to someone whose closest contact with Africa was when their Great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, ... great Grandfather was sold (as a slave) by the Abyssinians to the Romans).

Yay, that will resolve our differences here and abroad. Eradicating words do nothing except attempt to change history. I'm not sure which laws have those two categories in them, but if they are used in a derogatory way, they should be changed. If to try to change existing laws, not so much. More attention should be paid as to the evolution of these terms that are found as unacceptable today. History revisionists do not do any favor to those that had to endure some of the past actions of our country. I'm still not sure when Oriental became a no-no.
