Ha-ha, a very diplomatic way of saying he doesn't give a crap about the Diplomats that were asked to leave and the strong implication to Russia it will hurt Russia more than the United States..........which is true.

I'm sorry that's just not true most of diplomats being released are Russian locals employed by the embassy only maybe about 1/10 of those being expelled are American when Russia expelled those diplomats what they really said was we needed reduce our embassy force by 755 personnel which meant that majority of the ones let go would be Russian local which provide valuable out reach and even provide intelligence for us by working as recruiters for our intelligence services that's the people were losing people we frankly we need their.

Further more this is not going to save money because even the Americans coming they are still keeping their jobs they are employees of the state department and serve under the secretary of state just like how the president cannot directly fire us he can't for them either.

PFC (Join to see) - I think you need to look at this more carefully on several fronts. First most of the Russian locals released were involved with processing of VISA's to the United States AND NO THEY DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE TO RECRUIT for counterintelligence. With respect to the Russian locals it will save money. With respect to the Career Civil Service diplomats they will just be reassigned, I think you will find a great many slots open in the State Department Building. If even one or two Diplomats are redirected into one of the empty slots it negates the need to fill the slot with a new person.............thus it saves money as well.

PFC (Join to see) - Directly Fire or Indirectly Fire, the end result is the same. I think there were some Air Traffic Controllers in the 1980's that thought the President couldn't fire them because they were both Civil Service and belonged to a Union. However, President Reagan did fire all of them to their great shock and disbelief and the Union stood by and did almost nothing.

That's like if someone poked you in the eye with a sharp stick, and you said "Thanks........I wasn't using that eye anyway."
