He pushed several ideas that I didn't agree with, He was an atheist. This wonderful existence that we enjoy works too well to have been an accidental happening. Prof. Hawking says he can't prove the multiverse so it must be false. String theory and Quantum Field Theory both require more than 4 dimensions. Maybe he is ok with the 10 or so dimensions that quantum and string theories both require. I like the multiverse view of what we have... Even Einstein didn't get it totally right. We are a LONG way away from coming up with the correct unification theory. But science is so exciting these days... I so hope I live to see a human astronaut step out of a space craft on Mars. I watched (via TV) Neil Armstrong step down on to the moon's surface in 1969. I am 64 years old. Its only 12 years till 2030. I might make it. Prof Hawking was a very brilliant scientist. I was lucky enough to work with the Planetary Society and their S.E.T.I program back in the 90's. We are learning so much information, its mind boggling.

I left NASA/Ames in 1991 & didn’t rejoin NASA until 1998 (JPL) so i missed that decade.

Computer Systems Engineer. Worked for Human-Computer Interface Lab at Ames. Worked here & there at JPL, same thing, Computer Systems.
