So you get the Bill passed, and the DOD now has the added requirement to report these sick crimes. Now what? The crime has been reported, (to Whoever) and action is going to be taken against who, from who?

If the country itself recognizes this is illegal and does nothing to the perpetrators, what good does it to report it? Are we saying that on our FOBs and Out-Posts, that if you Mr. Local National that have been reported on doing these horrible things to children, can no longer access our AOR? What shit storm creating, especially if it is one of the local officials we are supposed to be working with? If I am not mistaken from the Martland case, not much really happened to the guy they beat the crap out of. He was pushed out of the one area, and reemerged in another doing basically the same job.

I am sure that I will get slammed for this, but that is ok. Do I think these sleaze bags should get away with this...no...double tap sounds better. Like I said before, reporting it is easy, getting someone to do something about it is a totally different thing. Then who becomes the law to enforce it? A large portion of the tribal counsels do not even abide by their own countries laws.

Do I think what is happening to SFC Martland is right? No, he should have killed him, but then again that is murder.

Half Nickel of the Day.

I'm sorry. I'm not up on lingo. Sincere question, What is AOR? Want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding before I start posting.

You're absolutely right. I've have seen many situations where we have caught local nationals doing wrong. The only thing we can do is deny them access to our bases and report to host nation. It's up to host nation if they will even follow up on our report. The only way things will change is if our government insists everyone they deal with upholds the basic rights of their citizens and are willing to withhold foreign aid and military support if they don't. It would be the right thing to do but I'm not holding my breath on it.

So let me get this strait, The POTUS has to get a bill passed to order the military commanders to give a lawful order. I am going to call Bull Shit. The Commander and Chief has to do nothing but make a lawful order and it is done. So unless the President will not make that order (Which I doubt would happen) this is a waste of everybody's time.

As it should be reported. Their names added to the list of child predators. And it should be on a drivers license of you ask me
