I married my bride just 2 years after she left the Navajo reservation to join the Army. I heard this story from her older sister who raises sheep. Their family lost several hundred head of sheep. The really sad part of it was the family was not allowed to shear the killed sheep beforehand, and not allowed to eat them afterword. Such a waste.
