Puerto Rico Overwhelmingly Votes On U.S. Statehood In Nonbinding Referendum

Well after reading your link and other sources I'm confident this vote, which only had a 23% turnout, will not get PR closer to statehood.

Two things... First, historically low turn out means this is anything but a referendum. Second, Puerto Rico should be careful for what they ask. Becoming a US State is much like becoming a member of the Mafia. Once you're in... you can never leave.
