Railyards Were Once So Dangerous They Needed Their Own Railway Surgeons

Very interesting article on how what we term triage and surgery were established in the railroad industry beginning in 1800's. Coincidental to this article my wife had a great uncle that worked for the Pennsylvania railroad in the late 1800's and was killed when he misjudged the height of a bridge while on top of one of the rail cars.
