The gravity detectors will go bonkers! The trouble is, "about to" on an astronomical scale could be a half million years.

And the "about to" could have happened already, we are only seeing the light from this after it has crossed the universe to our point. We see the past type of thing.

PO1 Tony Holland - This is a great discovery, indeed, but given the distances involved and in Light Years, they may look relatively close as we look at it from our space observatories, but the distances between these galaxies with supermassive black holes may still be thousands of light years between them... Should, however these black holes get within a predetermined range as defined by scientists, then the largest of these may, indeed, start accumulating material from the other two... It is exciting to gather the knowledge and understanding, Tony... Great Post my friend!!!
