I grew up on Okinawa, my Dad was stationed at Kadena AFB and we lived there from 1969 -1975. We used to watch the SR71's take off from time to time. We called them the Habu. I saw the Habu patch on one of the pilots in the video. The Habu is a very fast/poisonous snake that lives on Okinawa (and other places in SE Asia). I went back to Okinawa in 1982-83 in the Marines and they were still flying them out of Kadena. It is a one of a kind aircraft. It is a shame we do not still fly them.

Pretty cool bird. I love the story a SR pilot told about other aviators caling the tower for "speed" checks. Enjoy!
