What are we supposed to do at this point? We can either roll the dice and completely withdraw and let things be as they may running the risk of another 9/11... or we make a substantial effort and pour tons of resources into exterminating the enemy. This few thousand troops thing isn't going to accomplish anything. We need to go all or nothing.

Canada, is on the right track after 15 years it is time to re-asses goals, outcomes, and what the host government has offered and done in the past, example corruption. There is a reason why the Zun Tzu the Art of War warns about long drawn out wars and corruption and the effects it has on the nation at war.

"This wouldn’t be the end of the world — we already live with versions of that in other countries. We helped fight North Korea to a stalemate long ago, and have lived ever since with the result. Nothing says that every country’s problem is our problem to solve."
So what is the conclusion? We need to start asking questions about the war ourselves. It seems we have no clear cut goals or an exit strategy. Are we creating more terrorists and hard line theocrats? I don't know if anyone has those answers. The Taliban controls nearly two-thirds of the country and we do not have the troops there to stop their ascension.
