Here's Another Of Trump's Beauties.~ Didn't He Say He Had It All Wrapped Up?
I Guess Canada Still Has A Little Disagreement With Him.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump referred to Canada as "a very difficult country to trade with" and said that its levy on tech firms — the first payment for which is due Monday — "is a direct and blatant attack on our Country."
"Based on this egregious Tax, we are hereby terminating ALL discussions on Trade with Canada, effective immediately," he said. "We will let Canada know the Tariff that they will be paying to do business with the United States of America within the next seven day period."
The office of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
Last week Canada’s finance minister said that he would not delay implementation of the digital services tax — which applies to any tech company making more than $15 million from Canadian internet users — even as U.S. trade talks continue....

*chuckle* ... Rick, the article you were referring* to is the expenditures BY Japan related to the U.S. stationing troops over there, not the other way around.
Additionally, one Japanese Yen (JY) does NOT equal one U.S. Dollar. The current conversion rate is about 145 JY to the U.S. Dollar, so 1 trillion JY = ~$6.9B dollars.
BTW, I don't agree with the article as it is a very one-sided view. Yes, Japan may have spent almost an equivalent of $7B dollars in direct and 'related costs' for the U.S. bases, but that figure ignore the over $5B dollars the U.S. gives annually to Japan* by DOD (direct cots) to pay military salaries, construct facilities, and perform maintenance as well as the billions of dollars (tens of billions?) in indirect stimulus directly attributed to the U.S. bases in Japan.

LOL~~ You're Right _ OOPS ~~ But It's Still Costing Us Trillions For Our Miliary Support & Personnel Stationed There.

I'm Assuming Those Figures Must Be Current, But When I Was In Japan On Week-Ends Out Of South Korea, WAY BACK 1n 1964-65, The Prices Were More Than Reasonable. In Fact, Just Outside The Gates At Itazuki, AFB, Even On An E-3's Pay, I Purchased 3 Custom Made Suits And A Tux. And A Pitri 7-S 2.8, 35 Millimeter Camera In A Different City ~~Believe THIS Or Not, I Still Have The Suits In My Closet & I Gave My Son-In-law Brad, The Tux When He Married My Daughter--
~THAT Was A GREAT Deal, He Took Her Off My Hands For The Price Of A Tuxedo... ~~(;--)>

He Just Doesn't Learn; And The Judges, Senate & Congress Are Finally Doing Something About His Ego Problem. Bur Even when They Block Some Of His Actions Then He Orders Them To Be Done Anyway... Can You Imaging Being An Alli To This Country? If I Were In Their Position, I'd Have A Difficult Time Believing Anything He Says Even Trump Stated He Liked To Keep Other Countries In The Dark And He Doesn't Even Know What He'll Do Next

LTC Stephen Conway - This conflict has been going on for years and has not been a headline.
And in a turn shocking to no one:
Before hosting the signatories in the Oval Office on Friday afternoon, Trump told reporters that the accord allows the US to get “a lot of the mineral rights from the Congo.”

I'd Not Worry About That, Trump's To Busy Annexing Canada, Gathering The Monies To Buy Greenland, And Getting Back The Panama Canal - Which Was a 100 Year Lease With No Ownership Rights. But What The "L", Let's Take It Anyway, Just As Soon As We Convert Gaza Into An Upper Class Resort For The Wealthy. ~ What A 'king Idiot, And That's On One of His Better Days. (;--)>
