Rather than drag all of those supplies down the trail the Soviets had built a port at Sihanoukville and were moving supplies that way. Prince Sihanouk was in on it. Eastern Cambodia, around Tay Ninh became a real hot spot. There were NVA, VC, Khmer Rouge, and Cambodian Royal Army roaming around shooting at each other

The Vietnam cauldron sure simmered hot for quite a while. Reminds us for today that perhaps some of our nationally perceived hot points can have their temperature down graded by watching our reaction, being a peacemaker rather than a saber rattler, and remember that choosing life is always the preferred outlook.
