Me thinks that if they actually had proof that clears Trump.....they would beat themselves half to death getting to a press conference to show us all what they had. Why would they sit on it? Does that make sense to you?

SN Ron Jett - All of those things have been alleged by folks in the right wing media......none of them have been "proven"........saying it, doesn't make it so. On the contrary, as the investigation has progressed, much of what is in the dossier has been shown to be true. Other parts of it haven't yet been proven to be true, or false. The good senator from Wisconsin, who was out there one night calling the FBI and DOJ corrupt and part of a "secret society", came out a couple of nights later and backed way off of all that heated rhetoric.......his mind changed a bit when he actually viewed evidence. Maybe you saw him the first time, but missed him the second time?

SSgt Gary Andrews - Yes, the parts where it says Clinton, the DNC and others paid for the dossier to smear Trump.

SN Ron Jett - I get mine from a variety of news sources, and read the whole testimony, including National Review, which is a great conservative publication. I read Fox, I just don't believe them until I confirm it somewhere else. The dossier was first commissioned from Fusion GPS by The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative Web site that has received funding from the hedge-fund billionaire Paul Singer, who has acknowledged hiring Fusion GPS to investigate candidates during the Republican Presidential primaries. The DNC then paid Fusion for it (which may have been unethical but not illegal), no more than Don Jr. trying to get dirt on her from the Russian contact. Politicians do that all the time. In other words, first commissioned by conservative. The guy who did the investigation (Steele) was just a researcher who had nothing to do with Hillary, was so disturbed by the Russian contacts he found that he called the FBI. He is the one who gave his testimony (you should read it, but it's very long). He's not a political guy--just an investigator. The intel agencies thought it concerning but there is no way they would open an investigation on one document, much of it inflammatory. They were already investigating. And because they thought it was all concerning, they briefed both Obama and Trump on it before it ever became public. The FBI had to treat all this as gossip until they investigated (which is where Carter Page comes in). There are Congressional investigations now into the DOJ and FBI, but nothing has been proven. The FISA court hasn't ruled anything about Obama. I personally think his part of it that was unethical (not illegal) was talking to members of Congress before it was released. All that stuff on Fox with the 2 agents? They were covering up an affair and were idiots. I have no doubt there are corrupt agents in the FBI and every other law enforcement agency in the US, but the whole agency isn't. Surely you are concerned, as a citizen, that Russia tried to hack a U.S. election. I don't think it had anything to do with the outcome at all. But some of his staff obviously did meet with some of them. For anything easily explainable? Then let them explain. I hope none of them are involved, but I would feel so much better had Trump not pushed this off so hard, because by pointing the finger constantly and pushing against it so hard, it makes him look guilty. And by not insisting we get to the bottom of it, we are playing right into Russia's hands. Investigations take awhile, and right now there's just a lot of smoke, but nothing has been proven.

I agree. I am an independent. I would not want a political party to assume they have my vote. I wish we had three parties which might cause more collaboration. I wrote about it recently. Would a Third Political Party Break the Bipartisan Logjam in Congress? https://inhomelandsecurity.com/third-political-party-congress/

"However, the wise Sun Zi teaches us something more besides passively waiting for the enemy. He teaches us to incite, lure and tempt the enemy into action." -Sun Tzu

I would imagine that if such a thing did exist, crushing you're enemy when they least expect it leaves them little time to react.
