While I have a break from the tornadoes and flooding, I sincerely want to thank any Coast Guard members on the board here. We have CG helos pulling trapped people off roofs, while the storm is raging! We have had CG rescue people in boats helping almost in the city center here in Houston. If you are active CG, thank you for the training you provide. If you are a CG veteran, your service and history is the backbone of the ethos that allows them to do what they do. Thank you! COL Mikel J. Burroughs could you pass this to CG members for me, I would appreciate it!

God bless you! They have a helo right now doing a rescue from a flooded house, and there are 5 tornado watches right around them, but they aren't stopping. Say thanks from a Houstonian to any of your fellow Coast Guarders! If i had my druthers, I would much rather ride out a hurricane at sea....

PO2 Michael Berry Thanks for your service. The CG said that they have saved 250+ people by helicopter and over 1000 by boat. The CG CDR said that they couldn't even bring any more helos in because the airspace is so crowded with rescue helos as it is...
