CSM Charles Hayden
SGT (Join to see) - Would you go back voluntarily? Is filing, (did they really), a false police report an extraditable crime?

CSM Charles Hayden, According to the Brazil laws, the crime they committed can be extraditable.
What the Brazilian law says
GROUNDS FOR EXTRADITION
Even though these cases demonstrate how real world may be complicated, extradition law in Brazil allows to extradite foreigners for common crimes and naturalized citizens for crimes committed before acquiring Brazilian citizenship or drug-related crimes at any time. Conversely, political or opinion crimes committed by foreigners cannot be grounds for extradition, bearing in mind that political terrorist acts are not covered under this exception.
Like many other jurisdiction, the Brazilian government will not accept extradition requests for civil disputes or civil wrongs (including torts and breach of contract), but only for criminal acts.
EXCEPTIONS
Brazil will also not agree to extradite people to jurisdictions with death penalty, prison for life, or unusual and cruel punishments. Even though, prosecutors from countries with those penalties may settle an agreement with Brazil to not push for those punishments and have the person sent abroad for trial.
Additionally, the prosecution must agree to discount jail time the person had spent in the Brazilian prison during the extradition procedure.

SGT (Join to see) - I hope there's no need for extradition. Either because they man up and take their lumps (while they can still be termed 'young and dumb'), or because the US is like 'nah, bro, f that, you're going back, period.'

SN Greg Wright, Well, they apologized today, but they are still going to have to pay a fine. I'm still on the fence about the extradition possibility.

How shameful. It really sucks when people don't realize they represent something larger than themselves, and then go and do stupid crap.

SGT (Join to see) - perhaps they should be banned from drinking while they are competing.

I agree TSgt Melissa Post They drug test them. They should alcohol test them. They need to add that to the standards of the Olympic committee.
