I made myself many promises when I left the Army over 50 years ago, some being no camping ,no walking in the rain (had to break that wife says we walk,we walk dammit)no eating out of cans, always be in the vicinity of indoor plumbing and foremost no Rucking, this was a great post for those people who for some strange reason or another seem to think this is fun or healthful,it is not ,the rucksack is and was a torture device invented by SFCs and above to see how much you can load on an average grunt to the point that he can't get up if he (or now she) should fall down.

Couple random thoughts after reading both rucking reports. 1. The APFT does seem to be a fairly accurate indicator of performance rucking. 2. The sample size of the test group isn't large enough to indicate much. (To their credit, they admit as much). 3. They didn't indicate how prior ruck practice played into the trainup. (What I would suspect to be the largest indicator for superior performance.)
Cool study, but not enough data to mean anything to me.
