Lets see. This is what I did.
Put those boots on and run in sand. 2 days a week.
Run up hill 2 days a week.
Bike 10 miles a day.
Train at altitude. Test at a lower altitude.
Rest on Sunday. Hot tub. Swim.

Agreed and for sure all the *ongoing* prep, distance and speed work. The “value add” for me on test day was to warm up prior to the two miler w/a light jog, some short speed work and stretches. That way at *the gun* was @ full stride from the get go. And —> wearing a decent chrono watch to check times @ 1/4, 1/2, mile, etc.
