I've thought about purchasing non-working pistols to put on display representing some of the firearms I have carried over the past 35 years.
I'm concerned that if I mounted a real, working firearm, even though it would be unloaded, that someone would eventually break in and steal them.

For sure MSG (Join to see), that is always a concern. I have a tiny safe for my small collection of firearms. My brother has a very large safe for his very large collection of firearms. Id have a larger safe but i really dont have the room. I do have all three of my Colts on display, a 1914, a 1915 and a 2020.

SFC William Farrell -
I have a medium sized safe that I keep my firearms in with the exception of a backup/off duty pistol that I carry on a daily basis.
While there aren't a lot of them, they are the ones I decided to keep when I started selling the ones that I never carry or use.

MSG (Join to see) Yes there come a time when you have to cull your collection! A few are my every day cary and some I have because they are cool like my B&T APC9K with sliding brace or my Uzi or my H&K SP5K. My brother sold his MP5K many years ago and hes regretted it ever since. You can get them any more or they are very expensive.

I regret I sold a number of firearms in the past. Many are collectibles now and worth much more than I originally paid for them. Among them were several H&K P7M8s and 3 Colt Pythons.
Now, my favorites include a 2021 Colt Python and 2021 Anaconda that I purchased earlier this year.

Got to look up runner mounts. I have a flintlock rifle above my fireplace mantel.

I like it SSG William Jones. I cant quite tell but it looks like a percussion to me.My wife would shoot me with it if I mounted it above one of our fireplaces so I am thinking about mounting the Bess in my small office when not using it which isn't too often!

No, it's definitely a "rock-lock".

SSG William Jones - Does it fire? My Bess is a Pedersoli Italian reproduction. I use it with my Artillery Company.

Negative, but I have a .50 cal. "Poor Boy" Tennessee Mountain Rifle that I have blooded (deer) and I carry to AMM rendezvous ( http://americanmountainmen.org/ ). It is also a flinter. I purchased it from Dixie Gun Works in Union City, TN many years ago.
