We used to be the breadbasket to the world, now, not so much.

We still are. Issue is not the lack of food, but inefficiency of supply chain along with income inequality from stagnant wages.

And they don't include food prices in the basket of goods for the CPI.

The other day I was amazed at how much two day's worth of groceries cost.
