We don't call them gulags, we simply call them cages or detention centers, so how are we any different?

At least the "cages" we put illegals in are humane.

PO3 McCord posted: Obama put 52,000 unaccompanied minors from central America in cages

PO1 H Gene Lawrence Because evwn if talking about a problem in the UN accompliahes nothing, it accomplishes something. The longer we talk about it the UN, the longer we are NOT going to war. It buya us time to allow our State Department (and other nation's equivalents) to do their job.

Even empty talk is often better than military action. (Not always - sometimes you have to strike. But often enough.) The UN provides an excellent place to talk.

SFC Casey O'Mally - Let's work to make the UN better, not walk away from it. As you say, something is better than nothing.

MSG Stan Hutchison The benefit of the UN is that it has very little binding power. The UN cannot force any nation to comply. This is great because we can be a member without surrendering our own sovereignty.

The *problem* with the UN is that is has very little binding power...

While the UN cannot force us to do anything, we also cannot forces others through the medium of the UN. Is the glass half full or half empty?

SFC Casey O'Mally - You are correct and I do not know the resolution to that problem. But talking is always better than fighting.
