@PO1 William "Chip" Nagel I have been saying that the goal was not to get Trump elected. The goal remains to bring chaos to the United States by any means available. They have already been stirring the pot with the school shooting in Florida. Putin is a shark. He is waging a war against the Untied States without firing a single bullet. They are not our friends, allies, or even a friendly nation. They are an adversarial nation, and we should treat them as such.

I agree. I want to see the POTUS angry at them, and start developing a plan, or it will happen again and again until we take measures to stop it. Starting with imposing the sanctions.

SFC Chad Sowash Susan Foster I am counting on Trump's Ego to put an end to this. Once he comes to the realization that he was made a patsy, his ego will take a hit. He has gone on twitter tirades before because his ego was bruised. How will he react to Russia using him as a patsy to create chaos?

PO3 Steven Sherrill - I hope you are right. His anger is misplaced, and maybe someone will tell him he'd get more kudos to go after them. He's not said one bad word against them.

One of the big problems is folks who vote democrat or republican get there news from social media without vetting that information. People are just lazy to verify facts from fiction. It’s just a different version of Cold War tactics.
And then news outlets like The NY Times leads with “Indictment Leaves No Doubt: Russia Backed Trump. But Was It the Difference?”
The indictment tells us nothing about connections between the Russian efforts and the Trump campaign, and the Trump victory. It is also true that the indictment did not clear Trump or his campaign of colluding with the Russians. It did say that no American was a knowing participant in any illegal activity.
According to the indictment, the Russian organization’s efforts to interfere in the American political process began in 2014. The group employed hundreds of people and spent millions of dollars from its hub in St. Petersburg, Russia to conduct what the group called “information warfare against the United States of America” by exploiting “divisive U.S. political and social issues.” The defendants used stolen identities and fake personas to pose as legitimate U.S. activists and set up social media accounts to engage in illegal political activity.
The indictment also indicated that on one particular day in New York the group organized rallies in support of Trump and against Trump on the same day. It also indicated that they were pushing Bernie Sanders and discredit Hillary.
The sole purpose was to cause distrust within our government and cause chaos within the populous of America.
Regardless of our differences folks need to remember what binds us. The Bill of Rights and the Constitution. And if we can’t agree to that then maybe all is lost and we are doomed as a Nation.

Well said. I've seen some of those FB groups, and read some of the comments, and I couldn't believe the hate spewing from them. I even looked up some of the "spewers" and it's obvious they were fakes. I reported a few, but frankly, I have much better things to do with my time, and I'm not on FB that much. I get FB requests every single day, more than one, that are obviously fakes. If this country doesn't take some measures against it now, it will just increase, and they will figure out a way to do more damage, not only in elections, but as a way into other systems.
