How do you think people here would respond if Russia started sending detachments of forces to do exercises with Mexico in northern Baja California? Some people here already freak out when Russia sends bombers to patrol outside our territorial limits.
As a side note, this is yet another bit of evidence that our President is not Putin's puppet.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr - You are a brainwashed individual. Anyone who says President Trump is "Putin's lapdog" has completely given up their capacity for rational thought. I agree with you that we shouldn't worry, though. This is cold war diplomacy -- we've done it before and got through it. I'll just feel better when the hypocrites who think this is a good idea don't wet their pants when Russia does the same sort of thing back at us.

When they meet again n a couple of months, Putin can just tell Trump that he feels the exercises are provocative, and can Trump please cancel them. It worked for Kim, so I suspect it would work for Putin too.
