SSG (Join to see) - Question is will Congress allow escalation or nip it in the bud with the assistance of the SecDef and SecState like how our government is supposed to function.

1stSgt Nelson Kerr Pres. Trump certainly has an ego and a level of arrogance, but I also think he knows to listen to someone like Gen. Mattis on matters concerning the military and war.

MAJ James Woods I don't think Congress needs to get involved. Pres. Trump seems to have given Gen. Mattis a pretty long leash and if anyone in DC is going to know how to handle the situation best, it's him.

SSG (Join to see) - Not get involved. Any escalation of military action that could lead to increased conflict and potentially war requires Congressional approval. Just look at our history. It's called checks and balances. We're not just talking about ROE and self-defense protocols; we're talking actual conflict escalation and military congressional authorization.

In a conflict like this escalation to opme confrontation can happen in minutes. I like having a cool head like Martin in the mix but I would be far happy if the people who have th final say we're cool heads also. If Trump takes a attack personal were are are likely to be driven to war by his compulsions not matter what Martin or Kellys say.

Doesn't appear that all that "collusion" is working out very well.

Bah, they just worked this out to cast doubt on the investigation, of course! It's still all one big conspiracy! Tin foil is great to keep Russia from hacking my brain!

It's working fine with Trump, who is still calling the Russia thing fake news and is trying to lift sanctions. What the Russians didn't count on was Mattis......and the congress growing a set.

What Russia thing? The one there is no evidence of or the obstruction thingy that will be discounted eventually. And, yes, with a situation escalating such as this, I certainly hope President Trump and Tillerson are communicating. Sheez!

The Russians really don't think that the U.S. aircraft can't sense when another aircraft is arming itself seriously so we're just over there waiting for the Russian aircraft to fly in front ours so we can shoot theirs down okay that works. ..... what ever

You made a statement with a technical error, I fixed that error. Nobody was hostile at all.
