Yard periods are a CHENG's worst nightmare. Had one where they sank my ship bow first into the mud, and another where they wired everything in a new system backwards, and we went completely dark as soon as we hit the 1st swells and shorted out our entire electrical system.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I tried to put one of my guys up for Meritorious Mast, because he deserved it, but also I had never seen one !!! My XO shot it down because he said no one would understand it, so we got him an award, instead. Congrats!

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I was assigned in the main space to carbon arc out the boiler mounting spacers one day.
When I crawled under the boiler, there were 3 ship force sleeping under it, as I started carbon arcing, they all woke up and ran from under the boiler. Lol

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - Many a times, the fire watch would go to sleep, felt sorry for them when Chang would catch them, or the CPO in the main space, let a lone the 1st LT.
But you could see their butt smoke, when the Boatswain got on their case.
