It's unfortunate some kids do not understand the sacrifices made by the parents with the goal of preparing them for a good adulthood.

Bullying children physically or emotionally is never the right parenting answer.
Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

I agree however sometimes it is a real thin line between tough love and bullying. I see my role as a parent to prepare my children for the world and be successful when I am gone. The world is a tough place.

MAJ Byron Oyler - I agree with you in principle. However, the intro was about "public shaming" enforced by the parent's action - this is not merely natural consequences of their actions and/or private punishment (e.g. timeout) - public shaming is child abuse. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

Unfortunately, none of it will work. Those children are going to be told that they're victims, over and over again - just like practically every other child in the world now. It was inevitable once the "make love not war" generation gave up their bell-bottoms, bongs, and micro buses for business suits, BMW's, and doctor's smocks.

Check out the CRC (Convention on the Rights of the Child). Even slick Willy wouldn't pass that one to Congress. Hillary would have. If you read the "treaty" all the way through it basically relegates parents into the role of caretakers of the state's children - an opinion Hillary shares (read It Takes a Village).

Regardless, generations Y and Z have been told their entire lives that they're victims. Some get over it, and live productive lives. Others become Democrats or alt-Right crybabies.
