There was a fellow who killed his neighbor over a property dispute. The murder was settled by trial by combat. The deceased’s dog fought the neighbor accused of killing its master ( sex of dog isn’t known so no preferred pronouns). The accused was in a pit with a club. The dog killed its master’s killer.
